In Portland, we can be fairly limited when it comes to seeing the sun when it gets past November. So I went up to Mt. Tabor to try and capture what I thought would be an incredible Autumn sunset. Well, one photo just wouldn’t do it justice, so I opted to stitch 26 photos together to capture this one panoramic shot. There are lots more photos from this photo walk coming soon, but for now, please explore this panorama.  It looks tiny at first, but you can zoom in, navigate around and explore, just by using your mouse. I just moved to a new home that is close to Portland’s Mount Tabor.  It’s a relatively small hill in the middle of Southeast Portland, and my home is at the base of it.  I decided to test out the advantages of living here tonight by getting some photos of Mt. Hood and the sunset from near the top.  Expect more of these types of shots to continue.  I mean come on.. it’s right there!

Last night when I went to bed, I knew it was going to be a beautiful morning. The weather in Portland has been quite rainy, which I normally love, but yesterday and today were both crystal clear. Knowing I’d be able to witness a spectacular sunrise was all the motivation I needed to get myself out of bed pre-dawn.
