While visiting the northern Oregon coast this past weekend, I managed to take some time for some shooting. The area was blessed with wonderful weather the whole time I was there, making for some excellent light to play with. I concentrated my photography on sunset in Seaside on one day, and a walk around Haystack Rock the following day.

For the holiday weekend this year, I was invited down to Ashland, Oregon to visit my very good friends Wade and Noelle. I used to live in Ashland for about five years, but moved away in 2000. I’ve been wanting to check out The Salmon River Project for some time now. They’re a local collaboration of hip-hop MC’s with a great message and even better rhymes and rhythms. My friends Chris and Phil are a part of the group, and I had only gotten to hear how talented Chris is on the mic at the later part of his wedding reception. So needless to say, when I was invited to Skyway in Zig Zag, Oregon to document the Pray For Snow Party, I was ecstatic!

There was also a fantastic performance by Basic Shapes, and they were just as much fun to photograph as Salmon River. Enjoy the resulting gallery!
